Fire training at Camp Grayling

FIRE TRAINING – Michigan National Guide troops train regularly for fire suppression due to traditionally dry conditions in Northern Michigan, as well as other parts of the nation. Pictured here, a chopper picks up water from Howes Lake, located West of Grayling. The water, if the fire was located in Northern Michigan, would be dropped over the fire in support of ground suppression efforts.
