Veterans honored in Roscommon

ROSCOMMON – Veteran’s Day, November 11, dawned cold and snowy in Roscommon County. That didn’t stop the local VFW and American Legion from holding their annual Veteran’s day ceremony.

This year, Nov. 11 happened to fall on a Sunday, the second Sunday of the month which also happens to be the morning the VFW holds their breakfast. Members took a break from serving breakfast to perform their Veteran’s Day ceremony outside the VFW Post hall.

The students learned about respect for veterans and respect for the American Flag. Mr. Leach showed the students some of his different Air Force uniforms and equipment, including allowing them to pick up or wear some of his equipment in order to feel how heavy it is.
