The West Branch District Library, holds a pre-school story hour every Wednesday from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. It is led by Mrs. Warnecke, a former kindergarten teacher, who taught for years at Surline Elementary school.
This program is funded by the library. Books, craft supplies, and snacks are provided as well. The hope is to show young children that the library is a safe and fun environment and that books can be fun. It will also to give them a taste of a classroom setting where they can learn reading, sharing, cleaning up after play and creativity. Most important of all, it promotes a love for knowledge and books.
Parents, Grandparents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to participate.
They hope to increase attendance, and on December 15th from 11-3, in the basement of the library, there will be a Christmas Fantasy event that will have crafts, snacks and a movie, the title of which will be determined at a later date.
