Hill honored by Michigan Chief’s Association

GERRISH TOWNSHIP – The annual meeting of the Gerrish Township board March 14 held a few surprises.

Supervisor Dave Udy formally announced his resignation as township supervisor after seven years in office. The board voted to appoint Brian Hill to fill out his term. The transition is effective March 30. The appointment of Hill was made possible when the board accepted his resignation as Gerrish Township police chief.

Due to Hill’s retirement, there has been a change in the hierarchy in the department: Eric Muszynski was named chief; Norm LaBonte was appointed lieutenant; and John Wybraniec was appointed as sergeant of the road patrol.
