Food pantry receives grant

ROSCOMMON COUNTY – The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently presented a $2,500.00 grant to the Roscommon County Food Pantry. The funding for this project comes from one of the donor-advised funds of RCCF.

With the funds granted, the Roscommon County Food Pantry was able to purchase a new energy efficient commercial refrigerator. They will now have the ability to expand their fresh food options with this larger refrigerator.

LaWanda North explained, ‘Our goal is to continue to help feed the hungry in Roscommon County.’

The food pantry provides monthly food supplements for roughly 900 households in the county. In 2017 the food pantry welcomed 1,329 new clients and were able to serve a total of 9,974 residents.
