BBBS Bowl-A-Thon raises funds

COUNTY – Big Brothers and Big Sisters hosted its 4th Annual Bowl-A-Thon at Fred’ of Roscommon and Good Year Lanes in Houghton Lake, both lanes vying for the trophy.

‘We give the trophy to the bowling alley of the community that raises the most money,’ Pam Kincaid of Chemical Bank said.

‘We are here as fellow Rotarian’ to help the community in any way we can, this event, the Bowl-A-Thon, is one of those ways we can help,’ Ron Alden said.

The top fundraiser for Roscommon was Roscommon North Central Area Credit Union ($556, followed by runners-up Terri Woohams and Shannon McGee.

Top fundraisers for Houghton Lake were Leeann and Mike Wade of Good Year Lanes, Mid Michigan Health Park ($714) and Hart Ford of Roscommon ($625). Beth Stockwell surpassed everyone bringing in $1,568.

Good Year lanes kept the trophy.

Sponsors of the event included Keno Storage, Chemical Bank, Walmart, Big Boy, B.C. Pizza, Chase Bank, Vandrie Home Furnishings, North Central Area Credit Union, Roscommon Rotary and North Central Survey, and Camping World.
