Merry Christmas and happy holidays! The weather has been what we could call somewhat mild so far. Yay for that!
We would like to thank everyone and every organization who has donated to the Christmas gifts this year. We can still take donations until Dec. 8. We will be sending out 140 gifts, so we will need the rest of the time to get them packed up and delivered.
The center’s board meeting will be on Mon., Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. the public is welcome to attend.
The food drops happening this month are, The Golden Grocery Giveaway (senior cheese box) on Dec. 12 from 10 – 11 a.m. and the Together We Can Food Pantry boxes will be given out on Dec. 14 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Don’t forget your ID to show you live in the county and a banana box if you have one. If they run out of food, they will be gone before 2:30. Both food drops happen at the fairgrounds.
The Senior Center Christmas Party will be on Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A dinner buffet with all of the usual extras will be served for the regular daily lunch prices of a suggested donation of $3 for 60 years and older and a price of $6.50 for anyone under 60. Santa and his Elf “Jingles” will be here to celebrate too. Be sure to attend the party and enjoy a great meal and some holiday cheer!
The Senior Center will be having a breakfast meal from 8 – 9 a.m. on Dec. 21 and will be closing at noon so we can have our employee get together that afternoon. We will reopen on Jan. 2.
The Cold Moon for December will be beautifully shining on Dec. 26. I hope you get to see it!
