MIO – Oscoda County will take a step back in time for its annual Heritage Days event. Scheduled for the weekend of August Aug. 13-14 at the Oscoda County Fairgrounds the festival is free to attend.
Schedule of events:
Friday
- Noon – Opening
- 2 p.m. – Horse Rides
- 4 p.m. – Spinning demo
- 5 p.m. – Corn Hole registration. $10 per team.
- 6 p.m. – Corn Hole Tournament
- 7-9 p.m. Music with “The Relics”
- 8 p.m. – Bonfire and Smores
Saturday
- 9 a.m. – Opening and Cowboy Church
- 10 a.m. – Horse rides
- 11 a.m. – Sheriff’s bike rodeo; two bike giveaways
- Noon to 4 p.m. – Lumberjack competition (Call Kurt Hiser at 989-430-0817 for more info)
- 4 p.m. – Spinning demo
- 5-8 p.m. – Imperial Wrestling on the main stage
Other ongoing events include: Blacksmith, horse chiropractor, U.S. Forest Service Buffalo Spear Throwing, Kid’s Craft Zone, “People Mover” (wagon rides) around fairgrounds, “Frustration Buster” (beat up a car) as fundraiser for the Oscoda County Fairboard, yard sale, bake sale, multiple vendors, animals in the barns, bouncy house, plenty of food and much more.
