7th annual Michigan State Police Stuff a Blue Goose Alpena Post

ALPENA – On Saturday December 14, 2019 the Michigan State Police Alpena Post held the seventh annual Stuff a Blue Goose event.  Troopers and other staff members stood outside Wal-Mart and Neiman’s Family Market, for an eight hour period, with our Blue Gooses, which are our patrol cars, collecting non-perishable food items, new unwrapped toys, hygiene products, and winter clothing items for families around the area who are in need this holiday season.   We at the Alpena Post would like to thank the community for their very generous donations which allowed us to stuff our Tahoes/SUV six times.  The toy donations and half the food donations were given to the Salvation Army of Alpena with the remainder of the food donations going to the St. Bernard’s Friendship Room. The final estimated count as of Saturday night revealed we had collected 824 toys and 2,754 food items.   We would like to thank numerous businesses for their assistance with the event. Neiman’s Family Market and Wal-Mart were kind enough to allow us to use their store fronts for eight hours to collect our donations.  We would like to thank WATZ for coming out and broadcasting while the event was taking place.   Without the donations from these businesses and the very generous donations from all the members of the community, our event would not have been possible.  Thank you again for helping the troopers of the Alpena Post make a difference in the lives of those in need this holiday season.
