Christmas Message: Emmanuel God with us

Pastor Joe Jean
Resurrection Life Center
Grayling

Christmas is a very special time of year as we celebrate Jesus Christ our Savior’ birth.

God knew He had the answer to mankind’ sin dilemma, so He sent His Son as a gift to save us from our sin’.

This is my 62nd Christmas and it will be very different. My wife Marilyn of 42 years has passed away and gone to Heaven, she was a gift to me personally.

As a pastor I always try to encourage people to know Jesus, live right before God, love big, give much, forgive others, and appreciate each other because life is fragile and short.

Well-meaning people & friends told me that this holiday will be tough …’ Thanks a bunch’ GǪ I didn’t want to hear that at all.

People already know that life is tough and seemingly unfair at times, I don’t think it’ a great idea to remind them of that.

Maybe I just didn’t want to admit it, or just tried to avoid itGǪGǪHave you ever done that?

But I do believe that our God is good and is the very definition of ‘Good’

Truth is, I feel I am doing OK, a bit lonely, but this Christmas will be different to say the least.

Being alone is not the answer, though many choose that path. I am purposefully going to be cherishing my family, friends, enjoy their company, and being a friend to those who need one. The Bible teaches us we are never alone, ‘Behold I am with you always even till the end of the world’ Matthew 28:20

Which brings me back to the topic of this article, ‘Emmanuel God with Us’.

The question facing us all: ‘Is Jesus going to be enough?’ Will He, and a personal relationship with Him, be enough while we are navigating through the pitfalls of this Life?

He is asking that question to each of you today.

Will you accept this gift, Jesus, the ‘Indescribable Gift’ as your personal Savior? Only He can fill the empty voids in our aching at times lonely hearts.

Asking Him to forgive you of your sins, recognizing that you need a Savior, so that someday you will live in Heaven forever too. Jesus said, ‘I am the way the truth and the life, no man can come to the Father but by Me’ John 14:6

Love and Blessings
