ROSE CITY – Community Rehabilitation Services celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Rose City location on Sept. 23.
President and CEO Vijay Kumar held a barbecue Sept. 23 at the new location at 600 South Bennett Street in Rose City. More than 100 people turned out to be part of the celebration.
“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to thank the people of Rose City for their support the past two decades,” Kumar said. “Our staff and patients have been like a family to us, and we’re looking forward to being here for many more years.”
Kumar noted the company is a teaching facility (Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistants) and students come from across the area for internships.
The new clinic also offers Aquatic (Pool) Therapy. In ground pool is heated to 90-92 degrees, has a hydraulic lift (holds up to 450 pounds weight) for those who cannot use the steps.
This new facility will give local residents evidence based advanced treatment close to their home, they don’t have to travel long distance to get treatment.
Kumar, who also owns clinics in West Branch, St. Helen, Hale and Prescott, is active in the community and is part of the Rose City Lions Club, Ogemaw County Zoning Board, past treasurer of the Ogemaw County Republican Party, and past treasurer of the Rose City / Lupton Chamber of Commerce.
Kumar and his staff are involved in other community functions as well.
“We all donate our time, and monetary donations to local charities and individuals. At Christmas time we also do the food drive, and Toys for Tots, along with many other events throughout the year,” he noted.
