HIGGINS LAKE — Bundle up and bring the whole family to WinterFest 2026, hosted by the Higgins Lake-Roscommon Chamber of Commerce on February 13-15.
Badges are just $5 per person, and children 5 and under are free. Your badge includes admission to a packed schedule of events and activities all weekend long.
WinterFest kicks off Friday, Feb. 13 with “Snow Much Fun!! Welcome Reception” from 10 a.m. To 5:30 p.m. Badge holders can take advantage of $5 rentals with badge, sponsored by Cross Country Ski Headquarters, and enjoy refreshments from 3-5 p.m.
Keep the celebration going with “Dine & Celebrate” from 5-9 p.m. at Silver Dollar Pub & Grill and Cut River Grille. WinterFest is sponsored in part by Hart Ford & Roscommon Insurance Agency, and the Medallion Hunt is sponsored by Cut River Grille.
Saturday, Feb. 14 starts bright and early with a Pancake Breakfast from 8-10 a.m. at Lyon Township Fire Hall, sponsored by Lyon Twp Fire & EMS. Then cheer on the Crazy Cardboard Sled Race from 9:30–11:30 a.m. The race features Handmade Cardboard/Paint/Tape/Glue Sleds Only and takes place at Pioneer Hill/COOR ISD, sponsored by Agent Ken Bittner, Farm Bureau Ins.
At 10:30 a.m., don’t miss the Unveiling of Fish/Freshwater Trail at Park 27, the Ribbon Cutting Park 27 Ice Rink, and the Dog Parade at the Pavilion.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, cast a line in the Higgins Lake Fishing Derby with prizes sponsored by The Sports Barn and check in at Park 27. Families can also enjoy Kids Karnival at Lyon Township Park 27 from 1 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring Kid’s Activities/Ice Slide/Ice Skating, a Snow Man Building Contest & more, sponsored by Don Nester Auto Group. Hot Dog Lunch is sponsored by Family Fare of Roscommon.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., check out the Goat Cuddling Tent, sponsored by Higgins Lake Marina, and hop on the Horse Drawn Wagon at Lyon Township Park 27, sponsored by Gaylor Insurance, The Village Vault, and TWB Roscommon Investments.
Warm up at the Chili CookOff from noon to 2 p.m. at Lyon Township Fire Hall, sponsored by Bob’s Butcher Shop.
Saturday night brings the AfterGlow Awards & Party at Silver Dollar Pub and Grill from 4-7 p.m., Live Music “On Tap” starting at 8 p.m., a Silent & Live Auction, and a Cash Raffle $1000 First Prize, Raffle # R84627, sponsored by Silver Dollar Pub & Grill, plus Food & Drink Specials.
On Sunday, keep the weekend rolling with Skate & Sled at Park 27.
