HALE – The Iosco Conservation District invites you to dig into the flavors and traditions of the woods with Foraging From the Forest: Practical Uses of Pine Needles, a fun, hands-on workshop exploring how to harvest and prepare pine needles for popular tinctures and beverages.
Come see a pine needle tea demonstration and take part in preparing an apple cider vinegar–based tincture and soda to take home, plus learn why pine needles are often valued as a Vitamin C powerhouse containing Vitamin A, beta-carotene, alpha-pinene and limonene, antioxidants, flavonoids and phenolic acids, along with natural antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Join us Saturday March 7, from 1-3 p.m. at Eagle Point Plaza located at 415 Main Street in Hale. Cost is $10 per person (paid at the time of the event; cash or check payable to Iosco Conservation District).
To reserve your spot, email [email protected] with attendee names and contact information for at least one individual; registration is limited to the first 25 participants.
