Rotary hosts ‘Great AuSable Duck Race’

ROSCOMMON – The Roscommon Rotary Club held the 37th annual Great AuSable Duck Race at Wallace Park this afternoon.

Top three finishers this year were: 1) Kayla Vredeield; 2) Jennifer Ferris; 3) Wagner-Walsh and 4) Denise Collins.

The event features about 1,200 numbered rubber ducks released into the South Branch of the AuSable River, racing downstream for cash prizes. Participants buy tickets corresponding to duck numbers.

The race is Rotary’s primary summer fundraiser. Along with their Spring Auction. The projects benefit a range of Roscommon- and Higgins Lake-area community projects.
