ROSCOMMON – The annual Fireman’s Memorial Festival is scheduled for Sept. 14-17 at the festival grounds, located at 290 Ballanger Road in Roscommon.
The festival is a gathering to remember firefighters who gave their lives protecting their communities.
The event starts Thursday with Family Night. It includes parades, vendor, games and training events, as well as music and libations at the Big Red Barn. In concludes with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. sponsored by the Higgins Township Fire Department at the Big Red Barn.
Highlight of the weekend is the annual memorial service where firefighters names are engrave in granite at the memorial itself by the Michigan State Fireman’s Association. The statue is located at 1337 Robinson Lake Road.
