Great Lakes Energy People Fund Grant went to Fife Lake Historical Society

The Fife Lake Historical Society is pleased to announce that we were the recipient of a $5000 grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund.

The grant was used to help with the financing of new flooring in our museum.  The previous flooring was very old and had mold in several places. This was potentially hazardous to the health of our visitors and was very unsightly.  We were so happy to replace it with beautiful laminate vinyl planking that replicates old barn wood.

The Board has also created a video viewing area in the stage area of the museum, complete with a 5 ft. x 30 ft.  wall mural of photos depicting life in the late 1800s.  The original yellow pine wood floor in the mural room was restored.  Attached are pictures showing the enhancements to the museum.

By making these upgrades, with help from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund, a grant from the Forest Area Credit Union and numerous donations from our community, we can now ensure that visitors have a safe and healthy experience when visiting our beautiful museum.

Shari Culver, Vice President of Community and Member Services will be in Fife Lake at the Museum at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 10th .  She will present the check from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund.  Please join us at this presentation if you are available.
