Ann F. Schauer of Higgins Lake

Ann F. Schauer, 91, died peacefully, surrounded by her husband and family, November 25, 2016 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

She was born December 11, 1924 in Detroit to Anton and Josephine Journey. She was a graduate of Wayne State University and was a teacher at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte. She married Arthur G. Schauer on January 27, 1950 and lived in Dearborn raising five children. They retired to Higgins Lake in 1979 where they had summered since 1949.

She was always a cheerful voice when her children and grandchildren called or visited and a helping hand when they played Scrabble. She enjoyed her friends, bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble.

Her daughter, Carol Ackron, preceded her in death.

Surviving Mrs. Schauer are her husband Arthur after 66 years of marriage, four children, Nancy (J. Thomas Williams, Jr.) Schauer of St Petersburg, FL, Gary (Janet) Schauer of Kalamazoo, George (Denise) Schauer of Chandler, AZ, Douglas (Patricia) Schauer of Farmington Hills; son-in-law, James Ackron, of Belleville; grandchildren, Steven, Aimee, Chad, Whitney, Bryan, Dawn (Dan), James (Crystal), Traci, Michelle, Natalie and Kyle; and nine great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.
