GLADWIN – Bob Balzer of the Michigan Works! Region 7B Consortium was awarded Michigan’s “Shining Star” Award today by the Michigan Works! Association for his efforts to meet employment needs in Arenac, Clare, Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw and Roscommon counties.
Balzer received the award at the Association’s annual conference in Kalamazoo.
He serves as business service professional/director of business and economic development in Gladwin county for the Michigan Works! Region 7B Consortium.
“Bob’s contributions to the community, his leadership role on projects, and willingness to work together to collaborate on projects throughout Gladwin county have made a great impact in communities throughout the region,” said Luann Dunsford, chief executive officer of the Michigan Works! Association. “ He leads by example, cares about those he works with and their professional development, and demonstrates leadership and the ability to motivate others in the pursuit of excellence, making him the perfect choice for this award. ”
Balzer has a reputation for going above and beyond to advocate for job seekers and employers.
