The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce they have awarded their fifth #CommunityChoice grant to River House. River House was nominated by the community, and ultimately received the most “likes” resulting in a big win for the organization. The organization was presented with a $1,000.00 grant, funded by the Ambassador Club Fund.
River House is a nonprofit agency that helps victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. They currently serve four areas including Crawford, Roscommon, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties. In the last year, River House provided 2,965 supportive services to singles and groups, and 3,634 safe shelter bed nights to individuals who needed shelter. River House development director, Carla Ott states that “River House truly appreciates the community and all they do for us, and to help the survivors on a daily basis. With this Community Choice grant, we will be able to complete much needed upgrades to our technology – which, in turn, helps us to continue to provide our services and keep our clients safe”.
