GRAYLING – The Grayling junior varsity volleyball team earned a win Sept. 9 against Gladwin, sweeping the Flying G’s 25-18, 25-21.
Coach Sarah Frisbie said, “We had another good night from the service line scoring a lot of our points on our aggressive serve either with Aces or at least getting the other team out of system.”
Leading scorers for the day were: Paige Clarke with 3 aces, 1 assist, 5 kills, and 3 blocks; Jesse Menard with 4 aces, 2 kills, and 1 block; Kenzie Castle with 2 aces and 2 kills, Naomi Barnett had 2 aces, 6 assists, and 1 kill

The team traveled to Standish-Sterling Central High School Sept. 10, earning a 2-1 win.
“We feel behind early in the first set but were able to work our way back into before losing in extra points 24-26. After losing that close first set, we were able to win the next two 25-19, 15-13, Frisbie said.
Stats for the evening include: Lexi D’Amour 4 aces, 3 kills, and 3 digs; Paige Clark 2 aces, 3 kills, and 2 blocks; Naomi Barnett 3 aces, 9 assists, and 1 kill; Kenzie Castle 1 ace and 3 kills;
Jesse Menard 1 ace, 2 kills, and 1 block; and Makayleigh Laskowski 1 ace and 1 block.
The Vikings travel to Charlevoix on Sept. 16.
