Lantern Walk at Tawas Point

EAST TAWAS – The DNR Tawas Point State Park team and the Friends of Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse invite the public to the park’s first Lantern Walk from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 28.

The walk will begin at the State Park Lighthouse Pavilion area and continue to the end of Tawas Point before returning. Bring friends, family and co-workers to enjoy this new event at the state park. Dress for winter walking conditions. Snowshoes are welcome if conditions exist. (Snowshoes will not be available for rent at the event.)

If walking to the Sandy Point area isn’t for you, guests can stay near the Lighthouse Pavilion and Point area to watch the stars and enjoy warming station bonfires. Hot chocolate and treats will be provided by the Friends of Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse, while supplies last.

For updates and more information, contact the Tawas Point State Park office at 989-362-5041, email Lee Martin at: MartinL13@michigan.gov or check the DNR Local Events https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/calendar/2026/02/28/
