DNR offers virtual recreation grants workshop

REGION– Grants can make a dramatic difference to a community’s ability to deliver quality public outdoor recreation opportunities. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources administers several grants – the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Recreation Passport programs – available to municipalities for this use.

Eligible municipalities interested in applying for these grants are invited to a DNR virtual workshop, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7. Depending on the grant program, eligible applicants include state and local units of government, regional recreation authorities and Native American tribes.

The workshop covers the process and requirements to apply for these recreation grants. You’ll learn about eligible projects, application deadlines, minimum and maximum grant amounts and many other factors to ensure a complete application.

There is no cost to participate, but registration is required. A recording of the workshop also will be available following the event on the DNR’s recreation grants workshop page.

Click to sign-up and attend workshop.
