Warbler meeting at Gahagan

ROSCOMMON – Interested in birding? There is a community coffee talk Friday, April 22 in Roscommon to discuss what the Kirtland’s Warbler means to communities from Kalkaska to Oscoda.
This meeting is sponsored by the Kirtland’s Warbler Conservation Team and is an effort to bring people who co-exist with the Kirtland’s Warbler up to date on state and federal jack pine management efforts in our area. The benefits of jack pine management are real and we look forward to discussing them with you over coffee and pastries.

The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Marguerite Gahagan Nature Preserve, 209 West Maplehurst Dr., in Roscommon. There will be a brief presentation from the U.S. Forest Service and the Michigan DNR and then a discussion to help answer your questions.

This event is sponsored by the Human Dimensions Committee of the Kirtland’s Warbler Conservation team with help from the Kirtland’s Warbler Alliance and American Bird Conservancy.
