Small game hunting has begun

Small game hunting began Sunday (Sept. 15)!

Cottontail rabbit, snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse, fox and gray squirrel hunting all kick off Sept. 15, and woodcock season begins Sept. 21.

Make sure you’re ready:

Get your base license.

Don’t forget to add a free woodcock endorsement or free pheasant/sharp-tailed grouse endorsement if you plan to hunt those species.

See the 2019 Hunting Digest or visit Michigan.gov/Hunting before you go.
