Peter “Pete” Patrick Ward, 82, of Twining, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 17, 1944. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and went on to work for Ford Motor Corporation and later became an Owner Operator of Pete’s Auto Repair in Omer, Michigan until he retired in 2009. He was an avid race car driver, who was a past president of Whittemore Speedway and enjoyed restoring and driving his collection of classic cars. To everyone who knew him, they knew he was all about being Built Ford Tough! He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially solving world problems on Thursday evenings with his good friends George and Junior.
He is survived by his loving and beautiful wife Tammie Ryan Ward, Son Bill (Ge’Nell) Ward, Daughter Shelly (George) Workman, Daughter Michele Gunderman (David Liss), Daughter Thelma (Jeremy) Bartreau, Daughter Debra (Edward) Hodgins, Son Houston (Melanie) Brown, Daughter Stephanie (Shawn) McIntire. Grandchildren Shelbie Michaels, Corey Ward, Alisha Lotz, Cole Proulx, John Williams, Jeremy Williams, Brad Williamson, Katie Williamson, Marion Gunderman, Katurah Davidson, Hannah Davidson, Liam McIntire, Kelsey McIntire, Rowan McIntire, Torben McIntire, Enoch McIntire and an abundance of Great Grandchildren who he loved dearly.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Peter and Martha Ward from Twining, Michigan, Brother William Ward and Wife Marion Muckenthaler Ward.
We will be receiving Friends for visitation at Buresh Funeral Home located at 15 Maple Ridge Rd. on July 10th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on July 11th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM, Internment at the Cedar Valley Cemetery immediately preceding the service at 909 Maple Ridge Rd. Twining, Michigan.
A fellowship luncheon will be held at 2:30 PM July 11th, at the Burleigh Township Hall located at 2495 Putnam Road Whittemore, Michigan 48770.
