Michael Joseph Myers, age 60, of Roscommon MI, died of natural causes on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his home.
Mike was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Joan (Verville) Myers.
Mike was a kindhearted man who loved spending time with his family, friends, and his previous dog companions Maize and Caesar. In recent years, he especially enjoyed feeding the birds and trying to keep squirrels and racoons away from the bird feeders. Mike had a passion for many genres of music (notably loud music) and played drums his entire life.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the tranquility of canoeing, fishing, and being on any lake in a motorboat. In his younger years, he was a hunter, water skier, downhill skier, snowmobiler, and enjoyed mudding and two tracking as often as possible. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA.
Throughout his life on earth, he worked at multiple hardware stores, marinas, and wood product plants. In addition, he was a school custodian and reliable Mr. Fix It Handyman. He proudly served in the Naval Reserves.
He will be remembered for his laugh and being a jokester, never missing a chance to pull a prank on someone. He was always experimenting with recipes and enjoyed creating his own concoctions, most times with quite a bit of spiciness (“try it, you’ll like it, it’s not very hot”).
Mike will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Joan (Verville) Myers; sisters: Beth Myers, Beverly (Rob) Aikin, and Barbara (Bruce) Brown; as well as nieces: Amanda Aikin, Emily (Vinny) Szczerowski; nephew, Alexander Aikin; aunts: Arlene Verville, Donna (Verville) Wenzel, Edith (Myers) Hudson; many cousins, and friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Myers and three uncles Dennis (Pinkie) Hudson, Robert Verville, Robert Myers.
A casual graveside service will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Pioneer Cemetery, South Branch Township, Michigan, with a Celebration of Life from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Roscommon VFW / American Legion Hall.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
