Robert “Bob” Lavern Richardson
Age 91, of South Branch, MI, formerly of Commerce, MI passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Tawas City, MI. He was born on April 17, 1935 in Commerce, MI to the late Lavern A. and Wanda R. (Smith) Richardson. Bob attended Walled Lake Central High School. He joined the United States Army in 1954 and proudly served during Vietnam, being honorably discharged in 1957. Bob worked as a truck driver for General Motors, retiring after 31 years of hard work and dedication. He married Patricia Carney in May of 1960 and together, they cherished many years of friendship and marriage. Bob was a former member of the Hale Area Trail Blazers and the Hale Eagles Club. He is survived by his children, Shanna Degarmo, R. Mark (Kim) Richardson, Candace Richardson and Michael Richardson; brother, John (Sue) Richardson; sister, Verna (Jack) Colgrove; grandchildren, Scott and Matthew Bott, Logan Richardson, Kendall Lang, Ryan Richardson, Makayla Richardson and Michael Richardson, Jr. and many other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and sister, Joanne Kowal. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
