Shirley Margaret (Brooks) Westcott, age 89 of East Tawas, passed away peacefully at Iosco County Medical Care Facility in Tawas City on Sunday, June 7th, 2026. She was born to the late Bernard and Agnes Brooks on February 11th, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan.
She married Norman “Mike” Westcott on June 4th, 1955 and they raised their family of six children. She enjoyed many years of family gatherings and camping. She also had a love of music, singing, playing guitar and keyboard. She had a deep passion for all people and a love of all animals, many of them were rescues. Shirley did house-keeping, child care, and was a custodian for AuSable Mental Health Facility for 20 plus years.
She is survived by her four daughters, Nancy (Hal) Hubbs, Barbara (Bob) Rollin, Sandy (Marc) Barc, and Laurie (Ralph) Crevier, and son, Michael (Michelle) Westcott; two granddaughters; three grandsons; four great granddaughters; four great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Mike” Westcott; daughter, Vickie Serra; five siblings; her step mother and step brother.
uneral services for Shirley are scheduled for Monday, June 15th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City with Pastor Dan Gonder officiating. Her family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Per her wishes, cremation will take place after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Iosco County Animal Shelter in Shirley’s name.
