Lloyd Nichols, 79, of Hale

Lloyd Nichols, age 79, of Hale, MI., passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026 in Rose City, MI. He was born on April 12, 1947 in Whittemore, MI., to the late Joe and Nelly (Hensey) Nichols. Lloyd was one of eight children.

Lloyd graduated from Whittemore High School and joined the United States Army in 1966 serving during the Vietnam War as a military policeman. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Lloyd married Beatrice “Bee” Nichols, in 1993. He was working for General Motors on the line and after 30 years with GM decided to retire and reside permanently in Hale on their Long Lake home. Lloyd’s favorite hobby was fishing, especially with the grand kids. His favorite lake to fish in was South Deese Lake. He also liked hunting and was an all-around outdoorsman. One of his other favorite hobbies was mushroom hunting for morels. He and family had their secret spots, and they would regularly bring in dozens of morels each year.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Bee; children, Tim (Lisa) Nichols, Shannon (Sky) Weaver, Brian Nichols; siblings, Brenda Carson, Linda Mullennix, Arlene Tremble; grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Nichols, Stephen Nichols, Nicole Nichols, Brittany (Jared) Prusick, Arika (Brant) Mast, Kalek Weaver, Tyler (Alex) Nichols, Dawn (Ron) Hoder, Hope (Jerry), John (Stacy) Koeppe, Kenneth Koeppe, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ron, Carol, Joan, Norm; his fishing partner, Jack, and one of his favorite K9 friends, “Buddy”, a Bichon Frise’.

Per Lloyd’s wishes, cremation will take place. Family will hold a celebration of life service to be announced later. Condolences, memories, and photos can be placed at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com
