Deborah J. Erickson
Age 73, of Tawas City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2026. Deborah was born on September 11, 1952, in Mount Clemons, Michigan, to the late William and Arlene Maynard. She spent her childhood years in Warren, Michigan, and following her high school graduation she moved to California. While out in California, Deborah met her first husband, Alex Jacobs, and the two had three beautiful children together. After several years residing in California, she and her children returned to Warren, Michigan. Not long after the move back to Michigan was when Deborah eventually relocated up to Tawas City, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Deborah met and married the love of her life, Patrick “Allen” Erickson, on November 17, 1998, and the two spent the next 27 years together taking on life and making endless memories. It was with Al that she started working on the family farm. Deborah was extremely passionate about working on the farm and selling beef to residents within the community. Some of her favorite hobbies consisted of working on the farm, crocheting, going to the farmers market, and most importantly spending quality time with her family. There was nothing in life that meant more to Deborah than her family – her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the lights of her life. She was an extremely strong-willed, loving, and fun person that could light up any room she walked into, and she will be missed dearly by so many.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 27 years, Al Erickson; children, Christina (Bryant) Jacobs, Amber Jacobs, and Fred (Alyssa) Jacobs; stepchildren, Dusty (Ann) Erickson and Rebecca Erickson; siblings, Gwen Neill and Gary (Laura) Maynard; grandchildren, Dakota, Ericka, Emma, Cassondra, Mason, Dominick, Shania, Ella, Sophia, Jerrick, and Ariana; great grandchildren, Everleigh, Mason Jr., Wesley, Avayah, Jayce, Aliyah, Johnny, and Liam; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents William and Arlene, Deborah is preceded in death by her brother, Randy Maynard; brother-in-law, Bill Neill; first husband, Alex Jacobs; in-laws, Pat and Carol Erickson; and several aunts and uncles.
Per Deborah’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest in Sims-Whitney Cemetery in AuGres, Michigan, at a later date. The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice, NEMSCA, and the nurse aids that were very supportive of Deborah in her final years. You may leave an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
