Erma Carole Rogers, 83, of Sand Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Sherman Glen Manor on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Carole was born on April 17, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, to Erma (Chapin) and Robert Boling and raised with three brothers, Tom, Roy and Jim.

After graduating from Grand Blanc High School, she married Richard Roland Rogers on March 12, 1966. Soon came along two lovely daughters, Carri Lynn (Schweigert) and Kimberli Anne (Bindschatel.)

From 1975-1996, Carole and Richard made their home in Clio, where Carole chose a career as a school bus driver in order to be at home with her girls. Being a mother was one of her greatest joys. When her girls were young, she served as a Girl Scout leader and never missed their choir concerts. Summers were spent together at the lake, while Christmas breaks brought the sweet aroma of her famous peanut brittle and the thoughtful handmade crocheted gifts she lovingly created for family and friends. Throughout the years, she delighted in gathering around a table for cards, games, and conversation.

Dedicated to her Sand Lake community, she volunteered at the annual Sand Lake festival for over 50 years and she and her husband, Richard, were once honored as Sand Lake King and Queen. Retirement allowed them to spend summers at Sand Lake and winters in Silver Springs, Florida, where they continued to make dear friends and enjoy life together.

While our hearts are saddened by her passing, we are grateful for the many beautiful and fun memories she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Robert Boling; her brothers, Tom and Roy Boling; and her beloved dog, Corky. Carole leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years, Richard; her daughters, Carri (Eric) Schweigert and Kimberli (Ken) Bindschatel; her beloved grandsons, Zachary and Caleb Schweigert; her brother, James (Ilene) Boling; and many friends, neighbors, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Please join us to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM, and a service at 11:00 AM. Carole will be laid to rest at Pioneer Cemetery in Sand Lake following the service. Donations in lieu of flowers may be directed to Compassus Hospice of West Branch.
