Charles F. Dickens Sr., age 78, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1947, the son of Theodore and Viola (Land) Dickens, in Keokuk, IA. On November 8, 1968, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Neumann. Together, they shared 57 years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Charles was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Following his service, he worked as a Machinist until his retirement.
Charles had a deep connection with his cat, Jake, they were never far from one another for long. Above all, Charles loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Kathleen; children: the twins: Michelle Dickens and Charles (Tricia) Dickens Jr, Joseph (Odette) Dickens, and Christopher (Alissa) Dickens; grandchildren: Erica, Charles III, Ally, Joseph Jr., Jared, and Weston; great-grandson: Nolan; siblings: Thomas Dickens, Roger Dickens, and Christine Brown; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandson: Joshua; parents: Theodore and Viola; and siblings: Tippy, Marylou, James, and George.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 12:30 P.M. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
