Thomas W. Mark
Age 90, of Tawas City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in West Branch, Michigan. Thomas was born to the late William and Helen Mark on March 3, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in the Detroit Area and following his high school graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army where he proudly served our country for nearly two years. He worked as a gas generation specialist in the guided missile support unit and earned the rank of E4. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Livonia, Michigan, where he spent the next 35 years of his life. Thomas worked as a general storekeeper for Mich Con which is now known as DTE Energy for 44 years before he retired in April of 1998. In 1999, he relocated to his forever home in Tawas City, Michigan, where he spent the remainder of his life.
On April 23, 1960, he married his sweetheart Rose, and the two of them spent many years together raising a family of three girls. Some of Thomas’s favorite hobbies consisted of fishing, reading, going for walks and following Detroit sports teams. He was also an active member at the Tawas Methodist Church for many years.
Thomas is survived by his three daughters, Margaret (Paul) Olschanski, Susan Maline, and Elizabeth (Barry Peterson) Mark; sister, Barbara (Wayne) Duehn; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents William and Helen Mark, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dale Maline.
Thomas will be laid to rest privately in Alabaster Cemetery in Tawas City, Michigan, with his wife Rose and their dog, “Bear”. You may leave an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
