Susie JoAnne Wood, born on February 18, 1959, in Monroe, Michigan, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A devoted mother, Susie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Martin of Lehigh, Florida, and her son, Bruce Wood of Dundee, Michigan. Her grandchildren, Noah, Katie, Anne, Kyle, Marissa, and Johnathon, were the light of her life, and she found immense joy in spending time with them. Susie’s sister, Karen Moore, resides in Redford, Michigan, and shared many cherished memories with her loving sister. In her later years, she was accompanied by her significant other, Bob Krieg, who brought companionship and happiness into her life.
Throughout her life, Susie immersed herself in activities that brought her joy. She had a passion for crocheting, enjoyed the thrill of reading, and loved the challenge of jigsaw and crossword puzzles. An avid fan of the television show “Young and the Restless,” she delighted in keeping up with the lives of its characters. Susie’s vibrant spirit and warm heart will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Geard Wood, her parents, James and Betty Russeau, and by her sister, Laura Hudson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will gather to remember and honor the remarkable life of Susie JoAnne Wood. Her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.
