Alexander (Alex) R. Malocha age 86 of Tawas City, Michigan passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 12, 2025. Alex was born September 12, 1938 in Rogers City, Michigan to Alexander and Alfreda (Ode) Malocha. After High School, Alex joined the United States Air Force, serving four years in France and Germany. After serving his country he met Barbara (Pankowski) Malocha and was married at St. Louis the King Parish in Detroit on July 14, 1962. They lived much of their married life in Saginaw, Michigan where Alex worked in retail sales and the General Motors Parts Plant. Alex and Barbara retired to Tawas, Michigan in 2019.
Alex and Barbara raised eight children; Michael (Michele) Malocha, Ralph Malocha, Mark (Vikki Pouzar) Malocha, Paul Malocha, Mary Malocha, Kenneth (Raquel Duimstra) Malocha, Thomas Malocha and Rachel (Will) Kolstad. Alex is survived by his spouse, Barbara and his two brothers; Allen (Jane Clay) Malocha and Joseph (Kay Zarr) Malocha. Alex has six grandchildren; Michael, Maxwell, Mark II, James, Jacob, and Skylar Ann. He has several nieces and nephews; Brandy, Whitney, Shannon, Ryan, Steve, Kellie, Jacob, Chad, Michelle, Shari, Stanley, Thea, Mary, Edward, Kathy, David, and Jessica.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents; Captain Alexander and Alfreda Malocha, his brothers Jerrold Malocha and Donald Malocha also nieces; Brooke Malocha, Lynnette Bilbro, and Jamie Bilbro.
Visitation for Alex will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, Michigan. There will be a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Funeral Mass for Alex will be held on Tuesday, Feburary 18, 2025 at Holy Family Church in East Tawas, Michigan at 11:00 a.m. The public is welcome to visit before the Mass at 10:00 a.m. on the day of the funeral. Alex will be laid to rest on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan.
