Nancy Bills, 92, of Fairview

Nancy Ruth Bills
November 6th, 1932 – November 28th, 2024

Heaven gained an Angel of a Mom as Nancy Ruth Bills passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, Nov. 28th, 2024.

Nancy was born and raised in the thumb area of Michigan. As a young woman, she was interested in the field of nursing and volunteered as a candy striper, where she would meet and marry Richard Rex Bills in April of 1952.  Nancy would give birth to her and Rex’s first born child while Rex was deployed to fight in the Korean War, and would give birth to 10 more children throughout her and Rex’s lifetime together.  She never shied away from a challenge and would undertake many large tasks throughout their marriage on her own or with the help of her children.  Nancy managed and ran a household and dairy farm, largely on her own, while Rex was on the road driving truck.

Nancy was a mother to 7 sons and 4 daughters that she raised with a firm hand, a loving heart, and were her pride and joy.

Nancy was truly one-of-a-kind. She was a role model to all, full of great  advice, wisdom, and witty come backs. She was a loving, devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, an incomparable soul that will be missed beyond measure.
Nancy Ruth Bills is survived by her sons: Richard E (Anita) Bills of Luzerne; Bobby J (Manuela) Bills of Arizona; Jeffrey S (Lisa) Bills of Fairview; Timothy M (Ellyn) Bills of Fairview; Jason W (Christal) Bills of Comins. Her daughters: Terry L Bills (Robert) Sundberg of Florida; Dawn M (Ivor) Thayer of South Carolina; Debbie J (John) Gusler of Fairview; Rexann R (Jason) Chischilly of Arizona and daughter in law Sandy Bills of Comins.  Her sisters: Janet Curell of North Branch; Belle (Ken) Knoblock of Lapeer; and Dianne Robinson of Silverwood, as well as 26 grand children, 26 great grand children and 2 great-great grand children.

Nancy has been welcomed into Glory by her Savior and reunited with the love of her life Richard Rex Bills; her parents August and Dorothy Summersett; her brothers Dale, Rex and Thomas (Tip) Summersett; and sons Ben Lee and Gregory Dale Bills and great granddaughter Brynn Nicole Bills.

In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service/celebration of life will be held in the spring.  Internment of ashes will occur at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, MI.
