Obituaries Bill Tripp, 93, of Oscoda

Bill Tripp, 93, of Oscoda

William “Bill” Lynne Tripp

Age 93, of Oscoda, MI passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at home with his family by his side.

He was born on June 9, 1931 in Flint, MI to the late Lynne Allen and Evelyn Victoria (Welch) Tripp. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and went on to retire from General Motors after 30 years of hard work and dedication. He married the love of his life, Donna Lou Taber on June 4, 1955, cherishing 69 years of friendship and marriage.

Although Bill was dyslexic and was unable to graduate from high school, he never let this hold him back and refused to use it as an excuse to not succeed in life. He built houses, learned how to fly his own plane, taught himself how to carve wood using both a chainsaw and handsaw and learned how to scuba dive the depths of Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and many inland lakes. If Bill put his mind to it, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t learn to do.

He and Donna’s life was full of adventures and memories, from flying to their cottage in Hale, to skiing the snow hills of Michigan, to traveling as snowbirds around the country; they treasured each memory. Of all Bill’s accomplishments, what stood out the most, was his kind heart and his care for others. Bill was always there to lend a helping hand and his faith in God shined through all that he did and said. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. You may offer your condolences online to the family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
