JoAnn Lamb, 86, of Tawas City

JoAnn (McLees) Lamb, of Tawas City, MI, former resident of Flint, MI, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, with family by her side. She was born on April 18, 1938, to the late Laurence and Edith (Yahn) McLees. JoAnn graduated from Northern High School in Flint, MI, in 1956. She was an engineer for AT&T until her retirement in 1990. JoAnn married the love of her life, Arthur James Lamb, on December 8, 1956.

God broke the mold when he made JoAnn. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother who always had time and energy to enjoy her family and help out everyone. She worked and played hard–enjoying games of all kinds, golfing, bowling, baking, quilting and preparing (and eating!) Arthur’s wild game and fish. Feeding (particularly her desserts) to everyone, gift-giving (especially her quilts and other handmade items) and all creatures great and small (adoring her feline family members) were lifetime enjoyments. JoAnn’s love affair with all sports started at a young age, attending Tigers games and watching hockey with her father; and she enthusiastically followed University of Michigan football. Jesus Christ was JoAnn’s Savior, and she was active with the Tawas Methodist Church. She was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary of East Tawas and Hale, MI.

JoAnn is survived by her loving husband and best friend of over 67 years, Arthur; children, Kathryn (John) Redden, Arthur James Lamb Jr., and Mary Jo Lamb; grandchildren, Breanna Redden and Marializ Redden; great-granddaughter, Delilah Jo Hickman; brother-in-law, Phil (Nancy) Lamb; sister-in-law, Patricia (Richard) Walicki; sisters, Chris (Don-deceased) Linn, Nancy (Jerry-deceased) Kaupp, and Roberta (Jim) Germaine; life-long friend, Donna Henneke; nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved family and friends, too numerous to list, too precious to forget.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Arthur James Lamb III; brother, Larry McLees; sister, Rosemary McLees Paxton; in-laws, Arthur Mac and Kathryn Genevieve Lamb, and John (Peggy) Lamb.

Visitation for JoAnn will be held at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, MI, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5pm-8pm, and again on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Tawas Methodist Church from 10am-12pm, with a funeral service at 12pm. JoAnn will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mount Morris, Michigan, on Friday, June 14, 2024. There will be a short prayer service in the North Chapel at 3:00 PM followed by a graveside prayer for her interment.

JoAnn loved flowers; but if your preference is a memorial donation, please consider an organization supporting research and treatment of Burning Mouth Syndrome which JoAnn suffered from for 14+ years; the Alzheimer’s Association or Tawas Methodist Church.  You may offer a condolence online to the family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
