Joan Lois Brookes, age 78, of Roscommon, died on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at her home in the presence and comfort of her family.
Joan was born May 1, 1946, in California, the daughter of Sam and Rhea (Rosenthal) Siegel.
Joan always enjoyed going out on “girls’ days.” Joan will always be remembered for the love she had for her dogs. She was known for always getting rescue dogs. The family mentions she loved the dogs more than she loved her children. The dogs were her life.
Joan will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children: Michael (Catherine) Brookes, Cathy (Andy) Sambrone, Mark (Dawn) Brookes; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and not to forget the furbabies, Princess Mia and Clover.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Brookes.
Joan’s family has chosen to remember her privately at this time.
