Marie Theresa Hammond, 98, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Munson Healthcare – Grayling Hospital.
Marie was born to Edward and Anna (Gloat) Riopelle on December 19, 1925 in River Rouge, MI. Marie was a Godly woman. She was a member of the St Mary Catholic Church in Grayling. She was a wonderful, loving and strong mother for her family. She was one of 18 brothers and sisters in her family growing up. Marie enjoyed clogging and dancing. She also played the piano and organ.
She is survived by her children, Sandy K. (Gary) Hasson, Patti (Earl) Knight, Rusty Hammond, and Dawn Burrick; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband George who died in 2010 and many siblings.
A graveside burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling and Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the near future.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
