Sharon Dean,

January 31, 1939  –  April 8, 2024

Sharon Lea Dean passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of April 8, 2024.

Sharon was the daughter of the late Ida Ethel (Lowery) Knickerbocker and Donald R Knickerbocker. Sharon was raised in the Pontiac area of Michigan and shared childhood with her 3 siblings, who she leaves behind, proving that she was always first.  Joe Knickerbocker (Carol), Donna (Knickerbocker) Peters (Ray) and Don (Pete) Knickerbocker (Jean).

She met her soul mate Lawrence Allen Dean I when she was just 12 years old. After graduating High School they Married and started a 60 + year life together creating a home for the 4 children they would raise together.  Sharon lost Larry in 2018 when he went to meet his Lord and prepare for her to follow, she took her time.  Her middle son Jeff also left her life early, in August of 2016. They were both waiting there for her and we all would have loved to be flies on the wall to hear that reunion.

Her three children, Sheryl Lynn (Dean) Fanning (Steve), Lawrence Allen Dean II (Lance) and David James Dean ( Koni) she has left behind will miss her greatly.

She also leaves behind 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren who will all miss her love, hugs and spoiling.

Sharon was world renowned for her lack of patience when it came to things that were done due to lack of thorough thought process.  She had a knack for telling it like it is and told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

She didn’t appreciate four letter words but wasn’t afraid to use them when needed. It was the school of hard knocks and we were all told many times how she walked to school uphill, both ways, and in that ever present blizzard, so suck it up life can be as hard as you make it.

That being said, Mom was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or Lion) and yet she sugar coated nothing. She liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white, and those of us left behind are still trying to figure out which it was for us.

Her words of wisdom, comfort and love will be greatly missed by us all.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held in Lupton Michigan on July 21 at 11 am-1pm at the Cedar Tavern in Shady Shores. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com to share condolences, memories, and photos of Sharon.
