Roxanne (Roxy) Shellenbarger, age 48 of Hale, MI., passed away on April 10, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 25, 1975 in Alpena, MI., to the late Donald Francisco and Robert and Janice (Short).
Roxy worked in healthcare for many years in administration. She loved taking care of people of all ages and especially special needs patients. She had an amazing compacity to show compassion, sympathy, and love to those she cared for. If Roxy was taking care of you, you were in the best of hands.
Roxy loved being around children, showing them how to do arts and crafts. Roxy always encouraged her nieces and nephews to have fun and was always up for a good prank. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and being outside. She also dedicated her time to helping Wertz Warriors raise money for the Special Olympics. More than anything else she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Roxy is survived by her husband, Eugene Shellenbarger; son, Kaden; sister, Lisa (James) Heal; brother, Jesse Francisco; sister, Linda Perron; sister, Kathy Koopman; nieces and nephews, Hayden, Preston, Lil Jesse, Hannah, Caila, Quinton, and many family members and friends, her loved K9 companion, Molly “Mama”
Roxy is preceded in death by her mother Janice Short, and father, Bob Short; sister Erin Rang. Also, her beloved dog Bella.
The family will host a celebration of life party on Saturday, April 27, 2024 starting at 2:00pm at the Plainfield Township Hall in Hale, MI., 200 N. St. (M65), one block north of the light in Hale.
