Lennie Trombley, 82, of Standish

Leonard “Lennie” Louis Trombley, a man whose presence was a blend of love and faith, departed this life on March 30, 2024, after a fulfilling journey of 82 years. Born on February 3, 1942, in Standish, Michigan, to Leonard and Rosemary (Francis) Trombley, Lennie’s passage through life left an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him. His final moments were spent in the comforts of his home, surrounded by the people he so dearly cherished.

Lennie crafted a life rich in relationships and experiences. His dedication to his significant other, Judy (LaClair) Rossen, was evident in the loving bond they shared over the last 20 years. His heart knew no bounds, extending paternal love to his seven stepchildren, whom he adored as his own. Although he was preceded in death by his beloved Gerldine (LaFave) Foco, who was his partner for 40 years, his parents, and his sister Caroline “Judy” (Ray) Trombley-Dew, their memories fueled his passion for life. The Trombley family circle, completed by his brothers Floyd (Diane) (Val) Trombley and Harry (Inez) Trombley, knew Lennie as the cornerstone of their familial love.

Embracing his faith, Lennie was a regular attendee at Resurrection of The Lord Catholic Church and cherished the Sunday afternoon services at the Community Center in Standish. His commitment to both spiritual and community life was evident to all who knew him.

Memories of him at the family reunions at their cabin in Gladwin or camping at Big Bend Campground are treasured snapshots reflecting his love for nature and kin. His younger years, Lennie enjoyed boxing. As time passed on Lennie enjoyed holiday gatherings, pontoon excursions, deer camp retreats, and the thrill of both card parties and casino trips.

Describing Lennie is simple: loving and faith-filled. His life was a testimony to the belief that every moment is a gift to be shared with a smile, kindness, and an unwavering sense of community.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Resurrection of The Lord Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner presiding. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
