Joyce Look, 89, of Tawas City

Joyce Look, a lifelong resident of Tawas City, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Saginaw St. Mary’s Hospital, age 89 years.

Joyce was born in Wilber Township to the late Otto and Helen (Jeske) Grabow. After high school graduation, Joyce began her long 30 year nursing career for Doctors Jacques Kelly and Sharma. Being a faithful and devout Christian woman, Joyce was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas City.

Joyce absolutely adored and cherished her family and grandchildren. The many fun memories she would make together with her family brought out her biggest and beautiful smile! She truly enjoyed her close circle of friends as well as making new friends and stopping to talk to anyone she met. In the winter months, Joyce was blessed to be able to spend those times in Arizona, enjoying the warmth of the sun!

Joyce will forever be remembered for her love of root beer and popcorn, her soft fuzzy blankets, her precious animals, and most importantly…. A good family meal!Joyce was a very proud and strong woman, always conscious about her hair and make-up. The love she gave to her family and friends will never be forgotten!

Joyce is survived by her children, Terri (Steve) Cline of Tawas, Vicki (David) Tedrow of Tawas, Bob Look of Tawas, and Pam Buehl of Bay City; her grandchildren, Stefanie (Mike) Haines, Tiffany (Jeff) Burt, Terra (Mike) Whiteman, Jessica Burch, Ryan (Megan) Look, and Justin (Rachel) Buehl; great grandchildren, Garrett, Lauren, Tristan, Logan, McKenzie, Alexander, Christopher, Ethan, Evan, Harrison, and Ryan; great-great grandchild, Braxton; 1 brother, Donny (Judy) Grabow of Birch Run; and so many dear friends. Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved husband, “Red” Look, to whom she married on December 15, 1951. Joyce and Red celebrated 61 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2012. Also preceding Joyce in death are her brothers, Bob and Richard Grabow; sisters-in-law, Alice and JoAnn Grabow; sons-in-law, John Buehl and Jim Brandal; daughter-in-law, Patti Look; and granddaughter, Melissa Buehl.

Joyce’s family will welcome friends on Friday, May 3rd for a time of visitation at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Her funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas City with Reverend Gabriel Martin officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of her service for a time of visitation.

Per her wishes, cremation will take place following her funeral service. Those wishing to make a memorial in Joyce’s honor are encouraged to consider the Helen Grabow Bible Fund at Zion Lutheran Church or to the Gift of Life.
