Jackie Cook, 87, of Au Gres

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Cook, 87, of AuGres MI went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2024.

Jackie was born on June 30, 1936, in Lawrence MA, to Lillian and Roland Walker. She grew up in Massachusetts with her sister Ginny. After graduating high school, she joined the Air Force, where she met her first husband, Hewitt Judd Jr. Jackie and Judd married on September 3, 1955. Together they had four children, nine grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Unfortunately, Judd passed away in 1982.

Jackie married Arnold Cook in 1991, residing in Au Gres during the summers and snow birding in Texas before he passed away in 2012. She loved line dancing, shuffle boarding, playing bean bag baseball, puzzles, traveling, painting, making miniature dollhouses, dancing, playing cards, going on cruises with her mother, and spending time with her family. She visited 49 states and 34 countries during her lifetime. She was most passionate about preaching God’s word, giving over 80 sermons memorizing each one.

She was a member of the Arenac Christ United Methodist Church, Eastern Stars, Red Hats, and a 50 year member of TOPS. She loved going to the conventions for TOPS and Eastern Stars, but going to the Annual Methodist Conference was the best. One of the greatest highlights of her life was representing Michigan in Brazil at the World Methodist Conference.

She will be sadly missed and held forever in the hearts of her sister Ginny Foggarty, daughters Joyce (Terry) Pendred, Karen Dunn, and Dana Sue (Lynn) Pendred, grandchildren Jolene Straka, Daniel Pendred, Michelle Pendred-Svanberg, LeeAnna Richards, Wayne Pendred, Toria Sanislo, Jared Doran, and Judd Pendred, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, husbands, son Ronald Judd, granddaughter Melanie Nicklyn, son-in-law Arnie Cook.

The funeral is scheduled for Friday April 5th 1pm at Arenac Christ Methodist Church, with a reception to follow at Edmonds Inn. Visiting hours will be at Arenac Christ Methodist Church on Friday April 5th from 11am to 1pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jackie’s life.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arenac Christ Methodist Church.
