Sharon Huffman, age 84, of Roscommon, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at home in the presence and comfort of her family.
Sharon was born August 17, 1939, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Alden J. and Mary C. (Lamb) Green. She moved to Roscommon at the age of 1 and was a lifelong resident. She grew up with her three brothers and graduated from Gerrish Higgins Schools in 1957.
Sharon shined the brightest when her children were in need, with unwavering love and acceptance and always present. She was a GiGi to her six great grandkids and never ran out of hugs. Prior to her husband Arlen’s passing, she was very active in the Good Sheperd United Methodist Church of the North and enjoyed the friends and comradery of the Senior Center of Roscommon and Houghton Lake.
Sharon will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Jock (Carl) of Roscommon, and son, Joe Sopscak (Dawn Downs) of Roscommon; grandchildren: Mindy (Chad) Beers of Traverse City, Michigan, Jessica (Dan) MacHue of Roscommon, Michigan, Jacque (Jared) Pierce of Jonesbourgh, Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Leland, Wesley, Carson, Landon, Louie, Lennie, as well as soon to arrive, Emmett; and her beloved four-legged companion, “Stella.”
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene Watson, Jack Green and Kenny Green; and beloved husband of 10 years, Arlen Huffman.
Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.
Sharon will be laid to rest at Pioneer Cemetery, South Branch Township, Michigan, in the spring.
The family extends gratitude and appreciation to Hilltop Nursing and Rehabilitation in Roscommon for their persistence and care; The Brook in Roscommon for their love and support that transitioned a home away from home flawlessly and Munson Hospice who stepped up to the plate at the time of need.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
