Dick Hoemke, 80, of Oscoda-AuSable

Richard Otto Hoemke, of Oscoda-AuSable, passed away peacefully at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, Tawas City on Tuesday, February 28, 2024. Known by family and friends as “Dick,” he was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 11, 1943 to the late Otto and Martha Hoemke.

Dick graduated from Oscoda High School in 1960. He was a truck driver for Ralph Scott Excavating for many years before retiring from Oscoda Plastics in 2006. Richard and Marilyn (Hebert) shared two loving sons, Patrick from Oscoda and Stephen (Kim) from Warren. He is survived by his sons and one grandson, Dylan. Dick is also survived by his partner who he loved and adored for 44-years, Carolyn Grenier and her children Wendy (Steve) Bernard, Shelley (Todd Buresh) and several grandchildren/great-grandchildren.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and Bob.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life held in the Spring.
