Lorraine Roemelen, 95, of Prudenville

Olive “Lorraine” Roemelen, age 95, of Prudenville passed away on Friday January 19, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born in Detroit, Michigan to Magnus and Olive (Tyo) Edick. She graduated from McKenzie High in Detroit. She was married to Clarence E. Roemelen. Lorraine was a member of  Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was an excellent dancer and loved music. She always sang a special song whenever asked. “Bill Bailey, Won’t you Please Come Home”.

Lorraine is survived by her children; Olivia Herbst, Linda (Tony) Grimes, Paula (Mark) Sadlocha and Michael (Norma) Roemelen, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Clarence E. Roemelen, daughter; Denise and son; Kevin.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Tuesday January 23, 2024 at 11 am. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10 am until the time of mass. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. In-lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
