Fred Freitas, 75, of Atlanta

Mr. Fred Freitas, 75 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at home on the early morning of January 11, 2024. He was born in Belleville, Michigan on May 27, 1948, to the late Manuel and Mary (Hess) Freitas. He has resided in Atlanta since July of 1999. Fred was a member of the Atlanta Eagles and a lifetime member of the Belleville Moose Lodge #1221. He was an avid pool player and shot pool on Sunday and Tuesday at the Eagles. He also ran the pool league on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Fred enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He is and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, Charmaine Freitas, and Robert Freitas; grandsons, Mathew, and Grayson; brothers, Lee (Kathy) Freitas, Jimmy Freitas, and Bobby Lee Honaker; mother-in-law, Peggy Dutcher; sister-in-law, Lynnette (Brian) Eleey; brothers-in-law, Allen Dutcher, and Douglas Dutcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Mary Freitas; wife, Cheryl; sister, Faye Baker; and father-in-law, John Dutcher.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of Fred’s life at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service followed by a luncheon at the Atlanta Eagles.
