Carolyn Kay Cromwell, 76, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday January 22, 2024 at The Villa of Rose City.
Carolyn was born on January 23, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to Carl and Kathleen (Peabody) Michael. She grew up in the Flint area and graduated from Flint Hamady High School. On July 13, 1978 in Flint, Carolyn was married to William Robert Cromwell. Carolyn worked as a Store Manager for H & R Block in Owosso for many years. The couple moved to Houghton Lake in 2008 from Vernon. Carolyn enjoyed being involved in researching Genealogy and traveling.
Surviving Mrs. Cromwell are her loving husband of 45 years, William R. Cromwell of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Julie Rae (Travis Bennett) Cromwell of SC, and Jenny Marie Cromwell of Swartz Creek; two step daughters, Carolynn Ruth (Jim) Balderstone of Mt. Morris, and Jean Ann Cromwell of Clio; step son, William Thomas (Daniel) Cromwell of Ionia; several grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Carl Douglas (Debbie Hammond) Michael of FL; and nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Michael Peake and sister, Sharon Rae Michael.
Celebration of Life Services for Carolyn Kay Cromwell will be conducted at a later date. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
